Syd Harvey Griffith

Planetary Party Steward, Core Fractal Member · Executive Director, Kinship Earth · Co-Founder, Permatours

Syd Harvey Griffith is a regenerative systems builder, community organizer, and professional fundraiser working at the intersection of bioregional resilience, community-led regeneration, and liberatory flows of resources. Her work bridges ancient wisdom and modern tools to catalyze systems transformation rooted in care for people and planet.

As Executive Director of Kinship Earth, Syd leads the organization's Flow Funding work, entrusting grassroots leaders with unrestricted grants to flow in service of their communities and ecosystems. Kinship Earth is also dedicated to helping local communities launch and seed Bioregional Flow Funds.

Syd is also the co-founder of Permatours, a nonprofit that organizes hands-on permaculture action events focused on ecological restoration and natural building, as well as building mutual aid networks, and cultivating food and housing security. Their gatherings regenerate land and increase local communities' capacity to grow healthy food, offer affordable housing, and host gatherings. Kickstarted by a SEEDS regenerative crypto grant, Permatours piloted a peer-to-peer token economy where community members were rewarded for their contributions with the currency and could spend it at Permatours' regenerative community marketplace.

The Planetary Party is where Syd's worlds converge. Through Kinship Earth's leadership in the initiative's Capital Flows Circle and Permatours' participation in the Events Circle, Syd is helping to shape the Planetary Party initiative through its joyful gatherings that leave a lasting impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Planetary Party.

The Planetary Party is a living cultural practice and systems-change activation process that supports bioregions in coming into shared intention, trust, and collective stewardship of their future.

It weaves together:

  • Culture, celebration, and ritual
  • Community-led sensemaking and collective intelligence
  • Place-based governance and stewardship
  • Pathways for resources, responsibility, and care to move together
  • Global systemic solutions adapted to local needs

It functions as:

  • A cultural meme or modern myth that reframes regeneration as joyful, relational, and participatory
  • A field catalyst that supports movement from fragmentation toward shared orientation
  • A container for bioregional self-organization that aligns leadership, initiatives, and resources without central control
  • An ecosystem of high-impact solutions that maximizes impact and reduces risk

Unlike events that fade when tents come down, Planetary Parties leave behind positive-trace infrastructure: gardens, governance models, water systems, Flow Funds, and strengthened community capacity. Plus, they're part of a global learning network.

Anyone can be inspired by the Planetary Party meme and host gatherings in that spirit. To host an official Party using the full Protocol and receiving Circle support, communities go through an onboarding process to ensure alignment and readiness.

Flow Funds are trust-based, community-governed pools of capital that move quickly to grassroots leaders and projects based on bioregional priorities. No grant applications or burdensome reporting, just relational accountability and rapid deployment.

Everyone lives in a bioregion! You can participate by joining a Circle, volunteering at gatherings, amplifying the meme, or connecting us with your local community and networks.

Through a combination of philanthropic partnerships, impact investments, bioregional Flow Fund allocations, event revenues, and individual donations. We're building regenerative economic models that support the work.

The Planetary Party is a federated ecosystem, with no entity status. Nonprofit initiatives within the ecosystem are fiscally sponsored through nonprofit partners like Kinship Earth, while for-profit initiatives are fiscally sponsored by the Nalu’ea Living Trust. The broader meme and frameworks are open-source and available to all.

Circles operate remotely as a global network. Members work together virtually across bioregions, bringing their specialized expertise to support communities around the world.

Join a Circle remotely, start a local sensing circle (listening + mapping) and plug into the Protocol, or apply to explore hosting an official activation when readiness is established.
