Lineage
Lineage as inheritance, not credential.
01
October 2024 to present
Kinship Earth
Trust-based participatory grants. Roughly $370,000 already moved across 30+ bioregions.
Kinship Earth is the charitable rail of the protocol and the proof that the pattern is already alive. Trust-based participatory grants flow to bioregional stewards who report by what they steward, not by what they promised in a deck. The Flow Fund mechanism the protocol scales is the mechanism Kinship Earth has been refining since October 2024.
02
Five-plus years across the northeast
Permatours
Positive-trace regenerative festivals across Turtle Island. The lineage of the gathering itself.
Permatours has carried the regenerative-festival craft through the northeast and across Turtle Island for more than five years. The Celebrate phase of the protocol is unthinkable without it. The ceremony discipline, the gathering economics, and the relational ground with bioregional partners come from this lineage.
03
Founded 1999. 250+ centers across two decades.
Indymedia.org
Sheri Herndon's founding role in federated independent media. The precedent for federated infrastructure.
Indymedia.org was the first proof that 250+ autonomous, place-rooted nodes could share infrastructure and protocol without a central authority. The federated structure of Planetary Party traces directly to this lineage. Sheri Herndon carries that thread into the stewardship of the protocol.
04
3,000+ members. The largest real-life DAO in practice.
Auroville-ProSocial
Nadim Hamdan's bridge work between Auroville and the ProSocial governance lineage.
Auroville-ProSocial is the precedent for governance at scale. Three thousand-plus members coordinating through consent-based practice over decades. Nadim Hamdan introduced ProSocial to Auroville and now carries that governance lineage into how the protocol holds decision authority across bioregions.
05
Montego Bay, October 2025
Hurricane Melissa relief
Disaster as the field test. The Rastafari Indigenous Village holding the response in real time.
When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica in October 2025, the protocol's pattern was already on the ground through the Rastafari Indigenous Village in Montego Bay. A 16-year Afro-Indigenous community holding Rastafari culture, Ita foodways, and the drum-making lineage carried disaster relief, resiliency, and infrastructure rebuilding through the same trust-based stewardship the protocol describes. The form was tested where centralized response could not reach.
06
Six years across 12 territories
Colombia Regenerativa
The international thread. Watershed restoration, Indigenous governance, regenerative agriculture across Colombia.
Colombia Regenerativa is a six-year network of regenerative communities holding watershed restoration, regenerative agriculture, Indigenous governance, and urban-rural reconnection across 12 territories. The protocol's federated structure across bioregions is partly the inheritance of what Colombia Regenerativa has already practiced. The international weave begins here.
07
Guatemala. The first naming.
The Gathering at Starseed Village
Where the protocol was first articulated as a protocol. Syd's presentation gave it a name.
At Starseed Village in Guatemala, the disparate threads found a common architecture. Syd presented "Prototyping Regenerative Capital Flows, Bioregional Governance, and Systemic Transformation" and the five phases, the two rails of capital, and the stewardship body received their names. The protocol is not older than this gathering, but everything woven into it is.
The substrate
The federation of these threads is the asset.
The lineages above are alive. They continue with or without the protocol; the protocol is one of the forms they have agreed to take together. Kinship Earth keeps deploying participatory grants. Permatours keeps hosting festivals. Indymedia keeps its federated centers. Auroville keeps practicing consent at scale. Colombia Regenerativa keeps weaving across its 12 territories. Montego Bay keeps rebuilding. The protocol is the form that lets them feel one another.
The eight stewards each carry one or more of these threads into the present. The nine circles organize how the threads move into specific craft. The bioregions are where the lineage becomes ground. What looks like a platform from above is, from below, a federation of practitioners holding a common protocol so the work can compound.
